Update on my Dad

So my Dad went to see the lung specialist. She changed the diagnosis to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. She wants to put him on another medication, he's on two already and I guess the third one will help out and be the right combination? He will still be in the rehab facility, at least until he can't stay anymore because the insurance only covers 60 days. I guess after that then he may have to go to home care. He's also going to take part in a study that's through the University of Utah. I guess he gets to be a guinea pig. The doc said that he will need a lung transplant, since the meds just slow up the problem and not fix it or take the problem away. In the next few days they will sign up for the transplant, the details of that are still hazy. I guess it takes 8 months to really get anywhere and there's some scoring system that you have to go through to qualify? It sounds like the lottery? So we don't really know too much more than we did before. We'll just have to hope for the best and that this medicine combination will work out for a while. It's something he'll be living with and coping with for a while til he has the surgery. Then it will be a whole other ballgame.
